Picture of the Day: Day 78, My Style Baby and My Baby Who Prefers Comfort (multi photo bonus!)
Our oldest has been very into style since the beginning. As soon as she was able to verbalize an opinion about what she wanted to wear, she did. She would live in dresses if we let her. Not just any dresses, though, oh no. Her dresses have to “get up.” And “get up” for you less stylish beings, means that it spins and twirls and moves when she moves. Her first question when she wakes up in the morning is, “what are we doing today?” Followed immediately by an “and what am I wearing…can I wear a dress?”
This fancy twirler is contrasted sharply by her little sister who not only could do with out dresses, but is also quite uncomfortable in jeans. She prefers elastic waist bands – the looser the better. We always joke when we’re getting them ready to go somewhere that we’ll put London in her “fancy sweats.” She’s pretty much always in some variation of the following:
So, it really came as no surprise when, a few days ago, I asked them to go pick out shoes for the day and this is what they came out wearing:
Bejeweled gladiators and puppy galoshes. Not sure it gets much more opposing than that. I love it.
